| CBX Dark Espresso Roast: Vienna CBX is roasted to a little more espresso-like level than Code Brown. "Vienna" may be pushing it, but it's definitely roasted a little way into second crack, and it brings some serious Beef to the cup. Less acidic bite than CB on the top end, with enhanced bottom notes of hi-po bittersweet chocolate. Silky, tongue-enveloping body and a round, luscious nuttiness in the middle notes. Plops into the cup with all the sumptuous crema you've come to expect from our espressos. -->> NOTE: Code Brown and CBX are the only two coffees we offer in half-pounds anymore, and there may be a delay of a couple days before half-pound orders ship. | Code Brown Espresso Roast: Dark Full City A variation on traditional northern Italian light-roast espresso, the kind where you stir in some sugar (or not!) and kill it in a few swigs. It's great with milk, but this blend is definitely smooth enough to drink without any bovine aid. Code Brown combines African, Latin and Indonesian coffees, roasted fairly light (for espresso) with no surface oil on the beans. Produces thick, red-brown crema; smooth, sweet balance from the treble notes to the low end; a little earth 'n chocolate, a little fruity bite to open your eyes. | Tribal Medicine Organic Espresso Roast: Dark Full City Tribal Medicine is a deep, wild, 100% organic espresso based on our organic Ethiopian. It's roasted somewhere between the levels of our Code Brown and CBX blends. Due to the Ethiopian basis of this espresso, the flavors are all over the map compared to the other blends. Not to scare anyone, but several months ago there was a stretch of a few shots where a distinct *blue cheese* note came out of this stuff at our shop. It actually wasn't as unappetizing as it sounds. :) This one has been pulling really consistently lately; the conoisseur's choice here at the shop. The crema is awesome, the flavor is deep, round and sweet, and it punches right through milk with ease. You will most certainly like it. |

| Taste of Milan Espresso Roast: Full City This blend is as basic as you can get, with no Indonesian or African embellishments. A straight, traditional Northern Italian espresso blend made up of nothing but Latin American Arabicas. Very sweet and smooth, with a fair amount of top-end snap, due to the lighter roast. Not as able as Code Brown to cut through milk...this is geared toward the straight espresso drinker who likes his/her shots nice and crisp. |
